Science in Action Awards help teachers turn concepts into classroom experiences with cash grants to the school and personal rewards for teachers. The awards are open to any credentialed K-12 educator who teaches science as part of his or her curriculum in a qualifying school. Previous winners of the Science in Action Awards are not eligible.
Tools
One of the greatest barriers to reforming science education is a shortage of materials and resources. Our Science in Action Awards provide up to $2,000 for individuals and up to $5,000 for groups, payable to the school. Teachers will submit budgets with details about how the funds will be used, for example, to purchase equipment, materials, or to fund professional development and field trips. It is up to you to make the rationale for your request within the context of your proposed project.
Rewards
We recognize the hard work and extra time involved in creating new curriculum and managing inquiry-based lessons in your classroom. Our personal awards go directly to winning teachers: $1,000 for individual teachers and $2,000 to be divided equally and payable to each teacher in a group.
